Kanpur HBTI IIT GSVM JK Temple that’s not it…
Kanpur is a large city in Uttar Pradesh it is 80 kilometers by road from capital of Uttar Pradesh ‘Lucknow’. Once a famous industrial city known as Manchester of Asia is today a dumping ground of waste, pollution and population. I belong to Kanpur and my recent visit to Kanpur railway platform was an experience to share. Though nothing new about this city as soon as you enter the platform from city side (also known as Ghanta ghar in the name of clock tower whose time you cannot rely) sharp pungent ammonium smell will enrich your nostrils as men are constantly urinating over the walls from where you are entering the station. Believe me if you are new in kanpur you might faint as well. When you enter the platform you might not find ‘any’, as in the name of renovation whole platform floor has been digged up and on the same platforms you are boarding the trains WATCH OUT! for large pits and holes and also for large piles of mud and waste. Tracks are actually the waste disposal sewers and rats probably weighing a kilo are having a party. Ceilings are broken and water and sewage is seeping from them.
Many engineering students from far of places keep coming to Kanpur to study in HBTI and IIT Kanpur, and same for many medicos visiting GSVM, I do not have any authority to comment on education they are receiving, but this is for sure that there path to this city is not so easy.
